February 4th Wrap-Up

The first FLPW stream of 2018 happened last night, and everything felt like the 3rd FLPW Elimination Tournament only just happened a week ago. Time files, huh?

The biggest news of course is Adam Pubert pinning Laine Whitaker for Chris' World title in last night's triple threat main event. A big question going into the rebirth of FLPW in 2018 is if it was going to be dominated once again by Chris Furious.

Chris held on the the World championship all throughout the beginning of FLPW on Twitch in 2016 before losing it in the lead up to that year's WinterWar special. After Chris won the belt back at WinterWar, he's held it undefeated since.

With Adam Pubert set to defend his newly gained World title at Return to Form's main event, it's there we'll finally see if Chris' stranglehold as the company's top guy continues in 2018.

Johnny Talladega came out on top in his match against Roger Olson, beginning his 4th Canadian championship title reign. Everyone could tell that Olson was struggling to keep on top of Talledega, and despite heroic efforts to keep himself in the game, Olson could not get in enough offense to keep Talladega down.

Under normal circumstances, Olson would be going to Return to Form at the end of the month to try and win his title back. However, Dominic Pelletier gained massive momentum in the Canadian division after an excellent showing at the 3rd FLPW Single Elimination Tournament last year, on top of his big win in the 3v3 tag match last night. If it wasn't for the fact that Johnny Talladega eliminated him from the tournament in the semifinals, Pelletier would have just as much a claim a title match as Talladega would've had.

A number one contenders match has been made for the 16th between Pelletier and Olson to see who will go on to fight Talladega at Return to Form on the 24th.

One of the biggest unanswered questions being asked is who will challenge Saxxymus for his American title. Saxxymus has a complete lock down of the US division, not only defending the title numerous times against the likes of Tyler T-Man, Thomas Warren, and T the MC, but Saxxymus also ended up winning the 3rd FLPW Single Elimination Tournament. Thanks to poor performances from the rest of the American division during the tournament, nobody is close to being crowned a number one contender.

In the search for who's going to fight Saxxymus at Return to Form, look forward to next Friday when two different fatal 4-way matches completely shake the American rankings.

Also stay tuned to find out which two tag teams will fight for the Doubles division number one contenders match against The Beast Crew.
