September 27th Wrap-Up

Tuesday's stream was short affair due to my illness, but I think it was to the show's advantage. The four fights were all above AI match standards, and another match of the year candidate may have been born. Let's go piece by piece and break down what happened.

First up was Jacob Drummond and Trevor Warren fighting for that last guaranteed spot at September 29th's main event elimination chamber match. Although people were expecting Jacob to win, the ending of the match was one of the highlights of the month. After Thomas bent over to look down at a beaten up Jacob, he talked some shit and then proceeded to climb to the top rope for an elbow drop. Jacob then uppercut The Beast out of the goddamn air. Talk shit, get hit. 1-2-3. This means if Trevor wants to get into tonight's main event, he's going to have to defeat Geoffrey "TG" McCullough. TG lost his qualifying match to Ken Nakano a couple of streams ago, and it was probably the strongest we've seem him yet. I don't see TG winning, though.

Next up was Jake Rapture fighting Maximilian Wolf. Winner of this match would go on to fight Tyler T-Man in a #1 contender's match for the US Championship of America. This was another excellent match with the momentum swinging back and forth quite rapidly, but in the end it was Maximilian who grabbed Rapture out of the air into a Maximum Impact for the win. After Maximilian was not able to beat Laine Whitaker for a rematch contract last week, he's been bound and determined to make his way back up and win his opportunity to beat the ever-loving shit out of Thomas Warren. If we wants that title back, he's going to have to get though his last obstacle: Tyler T-Man.

The Provincial Alliance fought against The Hardcore Union for the #2 spot in the Doubles rankings. Probably the weakest match of the night, but it was still a good tag match. It does not help how we've been numbed to how good Doubles matches have been recently, but the most important thing to note about this match is that the Union went over clean. That's very uncharacteristic of them.

The final match was between John Polak and Johnny Talladega for the Canadian title. This match was almost on par with Maximilian Wolf vs Thomas Warren earlier this month. There was also some storytelling in the match! I didn't even know the AI could pull that off.

To explain the lead up to this match, Jacob Drummond (John's tag team partner) has been worried about Polak's performance in the ring as of late, following his mediocre performance at the September 10th tournament. Jacob then threatened that if John does not shape up and win the Canadian title he was in the race for, he'd end the partnership of one of the most iconic tag-teams in the FLPW. Things got even more serious after Jacob and John lost their titles to V-Nation after John was hit by an assisted Koog Boot. On top of that, most people picked Talladega to retain the title. You could see how much John wanted to not lose this title match. Nothing could pin him, he never gave up, and he fought like a champion. It ended after John hit his wrist-lock hurricanrana for the win after over 25 minutes of fighting. It was a great match.

Tonight is going to be a little insane. Every single match on the card is a #1 contender's match, which means that next Monday every title in the FLPW will be on the line. Watch tonight at 9:00pmEST to witness the first ever FLPW elimination chamber match, and to see who's fighting who for what!

Blogspot Exclusive: Double J vs V-Nation Doubles Title Ramatch

After losing their Doubles titles last Friday, Double J, though their rematch clause, was granted the opportunity for a championship rematch. They could not fight for the titles at last Tuesday's event since John and Jacob were tied up in singles matches, so a special match was granted to be exclusively aired on this blog page.

Card Changed For September 27th Stream

I'm sick, and it sucks. I had to postpone last night's stream to today hoping I'd feel better, and if anything I'm getting worse. However, the show much go on!

I'll be starting the stream much earlier (at 7:30pmEST) with the pre-show. Also, only the "mandatory" matches are happening tonight, and the only rankings matches that culminate at Friday's stream will happen. Here's the "watered down" fight card:

Canadian Title Singles Match
John Polak VS Johnny Talladega
Doubles Championship title match!
-
Tag-Team Match
The Provincial Alliance VS The Hardcore Union
For the #2 spot in the Doubles division rankings.
-
Singles Match
Jake Rapture VS Maximilian Wolf
US division rankings match.
-
Singles Match
Trevor Warren VS Jacob Drummond
Winner is inserted into September 30th's Elimination Chamber main event.

5 People I Think Can Dethrone Chris Furious

Chris Furious has been the only one so far to hold the World's Bestest Champion of the World title belt on stream. He's defended his gold 4 times in the last two months against 3 different people, and all of them have come up short. However, I don't think Chris will be the champion forever, and here's my list of 5 people in the FLPW that could potentially steal the title belt off of Chris in the near future.

5. Marcus Gravy
Now before you think I'm absolutely crazy for picking someone who allegedly was the reason that him and Trent didn't pull though and win the Doubles titles, I want to point out that he is the only one in the non-cannon round robin so far to actually defeat Chris Furious. Granted, Chris does seem to go easy mode when it comes to non-title matches, and Marcus has not had the best of luck when it comes to streamed matches, but just wait until the Brown Giant gains momentum. Mark my words.

4. Velze Formadill
Velze only just debuted, but it looks like he's on the same trajectory as Joshua Ferguson was when he debuted. Not only did he look incredibly strong with his tag-team partner Adam Roggeveen against the Hardcore Union, he also picked up a (literally) big win over Eddie Chumbo to qualify himself for Friday's elimination chamber #1 contender's match. Combine that with his impressive standings in the current non-cannon round robin, and Velze might have what it takes to evade the Kicks of Fury and defeat Chris for his belt.

3. Ken Nakano
Ken is one of four people to ever hold the WBCotW belt. He was the one who ended Chris' first reign by cashing in on Furious with his Dollars in the Account attache case after he successfully defended his title against Mitchell Cooper. Granted, that's not a champions way of winning the title, but he then went on to defend his title against Chris, Mitchell Cooper, and Jacob Drummond successfully until dropping it to Chris after four months. Ken's performance, much like Gravy's, have been lackluster over two months of streams, but he still (literally) has the pedigree to post a threat to Chris' third reign.

2. Pubert Adams
Chris is a 3-time World's Bestest Champion of the World. Chris' second reign was ended by none other than Executioner member Pubert Adams, who is a 2-time world champion himself. He's been mostly focusing on the Doubles title recently, but after putting away Salty Marcellus in his qualification match for Friday's elimination chamber match, he's proved why he deserves to be an FLPW main eventer.

1. Mitchell Cooper
Nobody has fought Chris Furious in title matches more than 3-time world champion Sergeant Mitchell Cooper, whether that be a title defense, or trying to get his belt back. Arguably the face of the FLPW main event scene, he was the first ever FLPW world champion. He successfully defended his belt against Chris on multiple occasions, but an important tidbit of information is that he has never been able to take the belt off of Chris. Two of Mitchell's reigns where ended by Furious, and it's only a matter of time until the curse of not being able to take the belt off of Chris is broken. Mitchell has been absent recently from streams, but when he returns we'll hopefully see him start his fourth world title reign.
